Twenty Years of Serving
For each of the first 15 years, Malachi's served less than 5,000 people per year. In 2008 our numbers doubled to more than 9,000. The next year (2009)---doubled again to 18,780. Last year, our numbers dropped to a still staggering 14,635.
This incredible increase forced us to be more frugal than ever. We have reduced our costs, improved our storage capacity and now glean from surrounding gardens. This year (2011) we anticipate feeding close to 22,000--the most we have ever served.

Quick snapshot of 2011 statistics. | Miracles and Challenges in 2011
This year we are serving more people than in all of 2010. Because of careful provisioning, vegetables from many gardens, bread from our local stores, and other contributions, it has been possible for us to provide almost 9 pounds of groceries per person per visit for a modest cost of $1.94--more food for less money than in previous years.
As always at this time of year, our financial resources are low, but as we have for 20 years, we trust that God will provide just what we need.
