As Episcopalians,
our authority is grounded in
Scripture, Tradition, and Reason, and these are the combined experience
of how we see God at work in the world and humanity. These three live
in relationship with one another, providing the lens through which we
express our faith. In light of this, the Vestry of St. Patrick's has
adopted the following Core Values as yet further expressions of our
life together:
|
|
| We seek God’s presence, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and Jesus’ grace in our corporate and individual lives. We are a dynamic family where together we experience God’s love through sharing, joy, play, nurture, and hospitality.
We welcome and value every person as a gift from God; there is a place at the table for everyone.
We reach toward the fullness of God’s wisdom in our lives through prayer-centered learning, creativity, and gathering together.
We desire to serve with humility and compassion, offering grace, healing, and forgiveness to others.

THE PROCESS
It was our desire to have as broad a cross-section as possible involved in
the development of a document that is so vital to the life of the
parish, and a road map to the journey we are on. Our Core Values are the
work of most members of the parish who attended the workshops. Very differing views were expressed on a wide ranging list of subjects. But there were certain common threads that emerged from the workshops. It was then given to the Core Values
Writing Committee to develop the final language expressing what we value and who we want to become. These
values unite us in a common purpose of finding a deeper relationship
with God.
